Scaling and teeth cleaning are the same thing. It removes the plaque and hardened tartar that build up on your teeth and sit where brushing cannot reach.

Why it is done
Plaque hardens into tartar, and tartar does not come off with a toothbrush. It has to be removed.
Dr Abaid recommends a cleaning every six months.
What happens
An ultrasonic scaler clears away the plaque and tartar built up around and between your teeth.
The surfaces are then polished, which smooths them and lifts surface stains.
A routine cleaning takes 20 to 30 minutes. A little longer if it is your first visit, or if there is heavier build-up to clear.
Scaling removes plaque and tartar that are sitting on top of the enamel. The enamel itself is not what is being taken off.
Teeth can feel sensitive for a few days afterwards. That is normal and it settles.

From PKR 4,500.
