Braces and clear aligners

We fit braces and aligners

Braces are fixed to the teeth and stay on. Clear aligners are see-through trays you take out to eat and clean.

Braces or aligners, for adults and teens

Braces

Braces are fixed to the teeth and stay on until treatment finishes. They take 18 to 24 months, depending on how complicated the case is.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners are trays you wear over the teeth and take out to eat and clean. They usually take a little less time, roughly 12 to 18 months.

Aligners do not suit every bite. Dr Abaid will tell you at the consultation whether yours is one they work for, and if it is not, he will say so.

Braces for children, from 7

Braces start from age 7. That is the point where enough adult teeth have come through for Dr Abaid to see how the bite is forming and how the jaw is growing.

Seeing it then matters. Crowding or a crossbite picked up while the jaw is still growing can sometimes be guided, instead of waiting and needing full braces later.

The first visit is a light examination, sometimes an X-ray, and a conversation with you about whether anything needs doing and when. Often nothing is done at that visit beyond the assessment.

It does not hurt. At most it is mildly uncomfortable, if an impression or an X-ray is taken.

The consultation is PKR 300.

Braces or aligners?

Braces

Braces are fixed on, so they work whether or not you remember them. They take 18 to 24 months.

Clear aligners

Aligners come out for eating and cleaning, and they are less visible. They take roughly 12 to 18 months where they suit the case, and they do not suit every bite.

Aligners cost less here than braces. From PKR 80,000 against from PKR 100,000.

Dr Abaid will look at your teeth and tell you which of the two will work, and why.

What it costs

Braces from PKR 100,000.Clear aligners from PKR 80,000.

What it comes to depends on the case, and Dr Abaid confirms it after he has looked at your teeth.

You do not pay it all at once

  1. Around PKR 10,000 before anything starts, for the cast analysis.

  2. Then 30 to 40 per cent in the first month, as treatment starts.

  3. Then PKR 5,000 a month.

The same terms apply whether you have braces or clear aligners.

The consultation itself is PKR 300, the same as any other treatment here.
